RANT!

Discipline in earning leads to diversification in your spending.

When I hear someone say “I wish I had your life” I fill up with frustration instantly!

Truth is they can have it or whatever part of it they think they want but more often than not they won’t. Because the reality is they don’t want my life they want the lifestyle that comes as a result of it.

What they forget is “the life” is that I’ve spent the past 10 years working for myself In a constant state of uncertainty. They forget about the 7 day weeks, long trips away, events that I missed, judgement that I faced, sacrifices that myself or my family made, the faith in delayed gratification and the fatiguing nature of such faith. They forget the set backs, the shut downs, the rejection, the failures. They forget the reality of entrepreneurship which is often isolation and feeling misunderstood. They forget the investments that didn’t pay off and the losses realised. They forget the endurance and attitude required to bounce back again and again in an ever changing market. They forget the focus and determination and they forget that “life” didn’t always look like this!

It’s a result of an unrelenting vision for having a life you created on your own terms where you leave no gap between what you want for yourself and what others may want for you. It’s the result of deciding that fulfilment is more important than popularity and that money is just an applause you get from a market you add value to. Truth is successful people rarely feel successful and maybe that’s why they’re successful... they instead feel the need to build, to create, to share, to solve problems even if they aren’t their own. They don’t clock in and clock out and they certainly don’t think of hitting their potential as the chore that people can sometimes view work as.

More than anything else 10 years after starting my journey I can tell you that you can have whatever you want if you’re happy to give up what you already are. Yep, with the whole change thing again... here’s the first thing people need to change. Do what you said you would! Keep the promise’s to yourself! If you can... like really can, you can have it too.
